Longest Ears – Mr. Jeffries, a Basset hound from West Sussex, England, holds the record for longest ears.  His measured 11.49 inches.  He was also the grandson of the famous Hush Puppies dog.

Oldest – This distinction goes to Max, a beagle-Dachshund-terrier who lived to be 29 years and 9 months old, which is three times the lifespan of some dogs.

Smallest – You’ve probably heard of the Chihuahua called Miracle Milly, the world’s smallest living dog, but the smallest dog of all time is still a Yorkshire terrier owned by Arthur Marples of Blackburn, England.  The teeny dog stood only 2.5 inches high, and was 3.5 inches from nose to butt.  It only weighed four ounces, and would’ve looked like the dog above.

Tallest – Giant George, who just died last year, was the tallest dog ever.  The blue Great Dane was 43 inches from paw to shoulder, and when standing on his hind legs stretched to 7 foot 3.

Heaviest – The heaviest dog ever reported by the Guinness Book of World Records was Zorba, an English Mastiff.  He reached a weight of 343 pounds!

Highest jump – The highest jump award goes to a Greyhound named Cinderella May, who leaped 68 inches into the air at the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge National Finals in 2006.  But she was more than just a jumper – she was also a certified therapy dog.

Longest jump – Belgian Malinois Vhoebe holds the world record for longest jump.  In fact, she even broke the human long jump record at the Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge in Gray Summit, Missouri when she jumped a staggering 32.25 feet.

Longest tongue – Brandy the boxer has yet to be beaten on this one.  The Michigan dog’s tongue rolled out to an impressive 17 inches.

Most tennis balls in mouth – Few dogs like tennis balls as much as Augie the golden retriever.  She can successfully gather and hold five of them in her mouth.

Best balance – Sweet Pea, an Australian shepherd-Border Collie, holds a couple of records in this category.  She walked down 10 steps while balancing a glass of water on her head, and walked the fastest 100 meters (2:55) with a can on her head.

Most flying discs caught – Rose is a Lab/Border Collie mix with an amazing talent:  she can catch and hold up to seven Frisbees!  It started when owner Edward Watson noticed that she didn’t want to drop a disc to catch the next one, so he set out to see just how many she would hold before she finally let go.

Fastest skateboarder – The fastest skateboard on record is by Jumpy, who boarded 100 meters in only 19.65 seconds.  He just narrowly beat out Tillman the English bulldog, whose previous record was 19.678 seconds.

Most balloons popped – Anastasia holds the record for popping 100 balloons in 44.49 seconds.  Her stunt is so impressive that it even landed her on commercials and Live with Regis and Kelly.

Biggest vocabulary – Chaser’s ability to fetch toys would put most dogs to shame.  Sure, some of them know a handful of words and commands, but John Pilley taught his Border Collie more than 1,000!

Most rope-jumpers – Uchida Geinousha’s dogs are the main attraction of Japan’s Super Wan Wan Circus.  They set the record for having the most dogs successfully jump rope at once with 13.
