Seminole County Firefighters from Station 42 in Geneva, Fla., received a distressed call from the pet’s owner, regarding the trapped dog. When firefighters arrived to home, located in the 1400 block of Chippewa Lane, they found the large breed dog with 75 percent of  his body buried in the sinkhole.

The pet was exhausted and semi-unresponsive after spending an extended period of time struggling to free himself from his entrapment.

Rescuers used shovels to dig the canine out of the sinkhole, and once the dog was back on safe ground, he was administered oxygen through a pet oxygen mask and then transported to an area vet clinic.

After receiving treatment and recovering, the pet was released back to his owners.
