Miniature Pinscher Saves Owner from Cancer Twice

A 13-year-old Miniature Pinscher named Sabrina has saved her owner, firefighter Curtis Young, from cancer two times now. The first time was in 2005 when the dog discovered a growing tumor on the back of his head, and the second time, this year, when the 11-pound dog discovered Young’s skin cancer on his back.

Rescue Dog Helps Apprehend Neighborhood Thief

A neighborhood in Boulder, Col., is a lot safer today thanks to Squid, a weimaraner-pointer mix, who helped apprehend a neighborhood thief after alerting his owner about the robber outside her door.

Tina Fuller, Squid’s owner, was fast asleep in her room with her pet, when she was suddenly woken up by Squid’s growls.

Dogs do amazing things to assist their families sometimes.  We hear about heroic service dogs, specially trained to detect some health or wellbeing issue for their owners far before any medical technology ever could.  Often, we hear of brave dogs, serving alongside our troops overseas.  You even hear stories of dogs traveling miles and miles just to be reunited with the ones they love.  Yes, dogs are amazing creatures of this world indeed.

Oklahoma Dog Mourns Owner’s Death

On July 11, 2014, 73-year-old Ronald Ward passed away while walking his dog, a white bull terrier, near the Canadian River northeast 36th and Sooner Road in Oklahoma City, Okla. Even though temperatures surpassed 100 degrees Fahrenheit, the loyal pup remained on guard, next to his owner’s body until police officers arrived at the scene.

The body was discovered by neighbors and they called authorities in order to get the deceased man and his dog some help.

Dog Gets Stuck in Security Bars

On June 11, 2014, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue received an unusual call. The firefighters are used to running out to put out fires and assist in the rescue of humans, but when the caller said the one in need was a Dachshund, the unit knew the day would be one they will always remember.

A Dachshund or Weiner dog as they are commonly know, needed rescuers to get him out of the jam he put himself in. The small dog tried to squeeze through burglar bars but unfortunately got stuck.
