Rescuers Save Four-Month-Old Puppies Dumped in Tar

On June 18, 2015, Amparo, Ana Rama, and Tere Sanchez, three women who work in animal rescue in Cartagena, Spain, with El Portalico saved two four-month-old puppies who were dumped in a tar well. The mixed puppies were covered in oil, and thanks to the women’s non-stop efforts to save them, the dogs now named Chapa and Pote, are alive.

Neighbors Rescue Abused Strays Needing Medical Attention

There is no reason to abuse animals, but somehow animal abuse happens daily. In Cartagena, Colombia, two stray dogs were rescued by neighbors and transported to a local animal organization after the pets were found in excruciating pain.

The first dog was doused in hot water and sustained third-degree burns on his torso and front, right leg. The stray was also beaten with an unknown object, and the beating left him with a broken leg (same leg that sustained most of the burns).

On November 30, 2014, Pets Without a Home (Animales Sin Hogar), an animal rescue organization from Montevideo, Uruguay, received a plea to help a mutilated dog taking refuge in a make-shift dog house in a backyard. No knows who the dog belongs to, who abused him, or how the tortured dog arrived at the home, but the little dog, now named Nick, had all four limbs and one of his ears mutilated, in addition to having part of his nose missing.
