On April 25, 2015, Lon Benner from Tacoma, Wash., discovered a trash bag with a Pit bull mother and her 11 puppies in it. Sadly, all but two puppies survived, now police investigators are asking the community to step up, bring justice to these animals and help them apprehend the criminal(s) who killed the puppies’ mom and their nine siblings.

A 73-year-old California man went Russell Crowe on a bear that threatened the life of his dog Lacy, whom he loves like a child and would do anything to protect.

A vet tech working at the Mercy Animal Clinic in Garland, Texas came across a female pit bull that was hanging out on the side of a road.  After stopping for a closer inspection, the dog was found to be nursing a two-day-old kitten she had found.

For ten years, a stray dog named Niño Andrade, roamed the streets of Las Colinas neighborhood, in Sincelejo, Colombia. During all this time, the dog became the neighborhood’s favorite pet. Even though he had no home or specific owner, he belonged to everyone and everyone loved him. On April 20, 2015, Niño Andrade crossed the rainbow bridge and the community came together to honor him.

In La Paz, El Salvador, a stray dog named Oso who lives around the Santa Maria Ostuma police station, saved all on-duty officers from a gang attack, when the dog fought off gang members forcing them to flee.

Would you jump in front of your dog to protect your pet if you knew someone wanted to stab or shoot him? We all say we would, but would we really? Our pets risk their lives all the time to protect us, and a dog from Argentina just proved that to save his owner.
