Who could abandon a pregnant dog with deformed legs? Well, this is the question The Cortland Community SPCA’s Humane Law Enforcement Department wants answered.

Little Lady, a possible Kelpie and reddish in color, was found on June 29, 2014, on the front lawn of a Cortlandville, New York, home. The homeowner contacted the SPCA and the organization immediately came to rescue the pet.

In July, 2013, Wilbur was found abandoned on a driveway, cooped up in a small kennel with several cats. He and the cats were in bad shape but had at least been dropped off in a public place where they would be found.

In October 2010, Helen Smith’s Parson Russell Terrier named Snowy was stolen from her Hook, Hampshire, England, backyard. The pet owner searched for the dog, but after months of empty results, Smith convinced herself she had lost her four-legged companion forever. Four years later, on June 17, 2014, Snowy was found 40 miles away from home.

Kooter, a Jack Russell terrier from Liberty Township, Ohio, got out of his yard in late June and his owner, Patty Sturgis, has been looking for him ever since. However, she hasn’t been able to locate the dog because a neighbor found him and gave him away on Craigslist. Now the neighbor won’t say for sure who he gave the dog to.

A few days after the dog ran away, Strurgis found a Craigslist ad with her pet’s picture. She immediately contacted the person and asked for her dog, but she was told, the dog had been given away to a Hamilton woman.

Cairo got stuck in a 6 inch space between two walls when he tried to hide from fireworks. A specialized animal rescue team freed him from his predicament.

We have all heard of the incident in Salt Lake City, Utah involving an unlawful entry on to private made by police on the 18^th of June, resulting in the shooting of Geist.  We’re also well familiar with the call for justice for Geist and his family.  This tragedy has become an inspiration to a man from West Valley City, Utah whom makes signs for a living.
