On July 11, 2014, customers outside a Save-on-Foods store in Maple Ridge, Vancouver, Canada, rescued a Rottweiler trapped inside a parked, hot car.

According to News Vancouver, the temperature that day was 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 Celsius) and the dog was drooling, panting and barking inside the parked Hummer.

With summer in full swing, many of us look for all sorts of different ways to beat the heat.  There’s swimming pools, rivers and creeks, swimming holes and ponds, the beach and even sometimes, just some good old fashioned fun with a water hose and sprinkler fountain.

No, Chacho is not actually invisible, but in the eyes of all those who walk through CIAAM (Centro Integral de Animales Abandonados de Madrid) he is. The shelter’s staff and volunteers have classified him as an “invisible” dog because he is a large breed, an adult, and a mixed breed. Characteristics of dogs hardly anyone want to adopt.

No one knows how Rosie, a Rottweiler, ended up living in Neerabup National Park, Australia, but in 2013, Calli San and her good friend Lee, made it their missing to rescue the abandoned and neglected dog.

So any of us with furry, four-legged family members know that sometimes our dogs can be silly.  Very, very silly.  Whether it’s a good old fashioned leg shake while getting a belly rub, or that really cute head shake and snort thing they do when you muss their hair, our pets can find true happiness in the smallest, simplest and sometimes even the most unexpected places.
