Last month we told you about Landis, the dog whose legs were badly disabled from living in a tiny cage.  Since he was rescued, he has been making lots of progress, and now he’s ready for a home!

 

Off-Duty Firefighter Helps Rescue Dog from Frozen Lake

A playful Labrador from Columbia City, Ind., found himself into deep and frigid trouble, after he ventured on to the frozen Cedar Lake and fell through the thin ice. Thankfully, neighbors and first responders came together to help save the pet.

Nancy Thrush was shoveling her driveway on January 6, 2015, when she heard frantic dog yelps. She walked over to the lake in her backyard and spotted Bo in the middle of the icy lake, struggling to get out of the freezing water.

Rescuer’s Open Letter to Soldier Who Had to Give Up His Dog

When an Australian soldier was told he would soon be deployed to Iraq, he had to make one tough decision, to surrender his dog named Prinny. The 12-year-old dog found a new loving home, but the rescue organization that helped the pet had no way to contact the soldier and let him know his pet was okay. The organization wrote an open letter hoping to reach the soldier, and thanks to it, Prinny’s previews owner learned of the dog’s newfound fortune.

Firefighters Rescued Dog from Sinkhole

On December 29, 2014, a team of firefighters from Seminole County, Fla., rescued a dog trapped in a small sinkhole. After the heroic rescue, the pooch was rushed to a vet clinic where it was treated and later released to his owners.
