Starving Dog Wanders into Garage and Finds Rescue

This past November, a starving large breed dog, possibly a Great Dane mix, wandered into a Greeneville, Tenn. garage, looking for shelter, food and peace. The malnourished black dog probably had a few days left – if not hours – to live, all he wanted was a comfy place to rest his tired body, little did he know that walking into that garage would forever change his life.

Rome and Juliet – Doggy Edition

Two strays from the Greek island of Zakynthos have been rescued and named Romeo and Juliet, after the unusual pair spent three days together waiting for someone to come help them.

Romeo, a four-year-old setter cross, was shot 38 times with a lead pellet gun and abandoned in a ditch. His body was submerged in water and only his head was visible. Juliet, a two-year-old pointer cross, found her Romeo agonizing in the ditch and spent three days next to him keeping him company and trying to get rescued.

Abandoned Dog Tossed over Fence with Bound Legs Recovers

This past November, a beautiful and friendly dog, now named Oatmeal, was found inside the fenced yard of an ATT&T building in Rosamond, Calif. The dog had her legs bound together and it is believed she was thrown over the fence and left to die by her previous owner(s). Luckily she was found and rescued.

A woman from A Coruña, Spain, discovered an injured, male, Bull Terrier inside a garbage container, and thanks to her the dog has been saved and is now recovering.

Ocean Beach Lifeguard Uses Surfboard to Rescue a Dog

On Nov. 5, 2014, Joey Riley was walking her 13-year-old German wirehaired dog named Rita, on the Dog Beach near the San Diego River in San Diego, Calif., when the senior dog got stuck in the river bed. Rita was submerged in mud up to her neck and needed immediate rescue.

Thankfully, a lifeguard was nearby and using his surfboard, he paddled towards the dog and saved her from her the mud.

Emaciated Puppy Pulls Through After Being on Death’s Door

On October 30, 2014, South Suburban Humane Society (SSHS) in Chicago Height, Ill., came to the aid of a three-month-old, hound mix puppy found abandoned in a milk crate. The dog weighed 9 pounds when he should have weighed close to 25 pounds. Thanks to a Good Samaritan, the almost dead dog is alive and recovering today.
