A couple of police officers from Fort Worth, Texas are heroes today after rescuing a stray dog off of a highway and out of danger.  Officers Allen Speed and Paul Garcia noticed the dog running alongside traffic on the busy street.

On Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, a woman from St-Ignace-de-Loyola, Que., spotted a dog on top of a thin sheet of ice floating down the St. Lawrence River. The woman and her mother, France Allaire, contacted authorities for help, however no one came to save dog.

On January 6, 2015, Chicago-based rescue organization One Tail at a Time (OTAT) rescued an 85 pound Beagle after the pet’s elderly owners surrendered him to Chicago Animal Care & Control.

Last month we told you about Landis, the dog whose legs were badly disabled from living in a tiny cage.  Since he was rescued, he has been making lots of progress, and now he’s ready for a home!
