When eight-year-old Rachel Mennet from Summerville, S.C., heard that Iraq War veteran Nick Bailey and his dog Abel needed help raising funds to send the German shepherd to service dog training school, the little girl decided to help. This inspiring young child set up a lemonade stand in a pet shop to help Bailey raise the $6,000 he needed to pay for Abel’s training.

The Bill Foundation had been contacted about rescuing a Rotty mix mama and her puppies.  Without enough room to house them, they were at risk of being put down.

On the way to the shelter, the team spotted a frightened dog tied to a fence a block away from the shelter.  To avoid paying a surrender fee, many dogs are dumped here.  This girl needed some help, too, so she was brought in.

Bill Selepack loves his Min Pin, Max, more than anything in the world.  But he has been without him for nearly a year – the 18-pound dog was taken by a SWAT team – and all because his county officials refuse to comply with federal laws regarding service dogs and people with disabilities.  They are even refusing to acknowledge that Bill has disabilities at all.  He is pleading for your help – please sign his petition to get Max back!
