Dog Fighting

Over a year ago, Joules a Staffordshire Bull Terrier from Middlesex, went missing. Her owner, Liz Wilson-Roberts, searched for her pet, but after not finding the dog, the pet owner convinced herself that her dog was forever gone. Well, a few weeks back, Joules and Wilson-Roberts were once again reunited, all thanks to the dog’s microchip.

On November 25, 2014, Karen Herrera from Fontana, Calif., found a white and brown female dog inside a garbage bag tossed on the side of the road. The dog had endured abuse at the hands of her owner prior to getting discarded with the garbage. The dog’s body had multiple bite wounds and patches of missing fur, yet, she had somehow survived the unimaginable and patiently waited on the side of the road for a helping hand.

Fresno man William Weir helped police make a case against him and was arrested after he posted a video on Facebook of him instigating his pit bulls into attacking and killing a puppy.

Weir claims that the puppy was heading toward his scared daughter and that this was an isolated incident, but police don’t believe his story and think dog fighting has been going on at his residence for much longer.

When the Memphis, Tennessee police responded to a call involving a badly injured dog, there was not much they could do once they got there. Unfortunately, that dog did not make it, but the incident has launched an investigation into a possible dog fighting ring in the North Memphis area. Now police are offering a cash reward to anyone providing information that leads to an arrest.
