Dog Gets Needed Hip Surgery Thanks to Pilot Veterinarian

Lucy a rescue dog from Greensboro ,N.C., suffered from Legg-Calve Perthes disease (LPC) and on a routine vet check her illness was discovered. Her loving owner, a single mother, worried she wouldn’t be able to pay for her pet’s necessary and expensive surgery, but pet surgeon and pilot Dr. David T. Crouch offered to help and at no cost.

Iguana Gets Boca Raton Pet Trapped in Canal

A Boca Raton, Fla., dog named Robin, spotted an iguana during her walk with owner Will Betterton, and as any other playful dog, Robin wanted to chase the iguana. Unfortunately, the dog broke from her leash and ended up struggling to stay alive in a canal.

Betterton feared for his dog’s life because Florida canals are usually homes to alligators.

I Stole My Own Dog Back

For eight weeks, the Falk family from New York city’s West Village neighborhood searched for Moey, their poodle-Bichon-Shih-Tzu mix, stolen on June, 25, 2014. The pet owners plastered the neighborhood with over 400 “Lost Dog” flyers, searched the area, reported the theft to police, checked area shelters and followed up on fictitious leads, but nothing they did brought them closer to finding their pet. Finally, after almost 2 months of searching, their beloved dog was found.

Half Starved Dog Rescued in Hawk Island Park Is on Road to Recovery

On July 24, 2014, a half starved, female, mastiff dog was rescued from Hawk Island Park in Lansing, Mich., after the dog was spotted by early morning walkers. Ingham County Animal Control rescued the pet and with the help of the community, the once abandoned and emaciated dog is now on her road to recovery.
